I wild harvest Blue Elderberries in large stands in early fall, in Eastern Washington. I wait for the berries to get fully ripe, plump and deep blue, right after the first frost. I always leave berries for wildlife and other harvesters and do not harvest along roadways. Dried same day as harvest.
