I personally grow and harvest this Black Cohosh on my farm. I never use herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or GMO's. All my herbs are grown using Permaculture ethics and techniques. I harvest in the fall of the Fifth year after the foliage has died back and the energy is in the root. I macerate the roots in 75% alcohol and 25% distilled water for 6 weeks. I strain then bottle and store in a cool dark cupboard.
Black Cohosh has many uses and has been traditionally used for hormonal changes in menopause as well as back pain. Avoid during early pregnancy.
