Hand harvested and grown in my small-scale permaculture system, without the use of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or synthetic fertilizers. I harvest marshmallow roots each fall, just as the above ground foliage dies back and the energy moves into the root. Roots are cleaned off and dried the same day of harvest.
