Lomatium dissectum Tincture
Lomatium dissectum Tincture
Freshly wild harvested Lomatium dissectum root, 75% grain alcohol and distilled water.
1 oz Bottle
I wild harvest Lomatium dissectum each fall in Eastern Washington, in extremely large patches. I hand dig roots in small quantities and always fill in the hole when done. Harvesting in the fall after the seeds have set allows me to scatter seeds to insure the patch continues to grow. After harvest, I wash roots and tincture right away. I macerate the chopped root in 75% alcohol and 25% distilled water for 6 weeks. I strain then bottle and store in a cool dark cupboard.
Lomatium dissectum has traditionally been used by my Paiute ancestors and many Peoples of the great basin and most of the arid west for centuries. It's oily and resinous roots are a primer herb for upper respiratory viral infections.
