Sow seeds in spring after the danger of frost. Light scarification with fine grit sandpaper or soaking seeds overnight, speeds up germination. Sow in pots, cover seeds with 1/2 inch of soil and water well. Transplant out when more established. Protect from slugs.

Nitrogen fixing herbaceous shrub. Mulch well in moist soils, full sun to partial shade. Medicinally used to promote the flow of breast milk in humans and animals. Also used in the treatment of diabetes.
