Sow seeds in spring, in pots or flats. Barely cover seeds, tamp down in soil firmly and water well. Transplant into bigger pots and then out into the garden once well established. Grows well in full sun to partial shade in well graining even graveling soil.

Highly aromatic, and good medicine for the common cold. The aerial parts are high in volatile oils that have antispasmodic, expectorant, nervine and diaphoretic properties. Used in respiratory infections and calming the nerves. Leaves can be used topically to help heal wounds.
