Easy to grow. Start seeds in fall to germinate in spring or cold condition for two weeks in early spring. Barely cover seeds, tamp firmly in soil and keep well-watered. Transplant when robust. Plant prefers a sunny very well-draining location, does not over winter in overly wet or boggy soil.
Showy native of the western prairies from British Columbia down to Colorado and California. Pollinators love the flowers. The flowers and leaves are used for colds, fevers and stomach upsets.
