Artichoke Leaf Tincture
Freshly harvested Artichoke Leaf, Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus 40% in alcohol and distilled water.
I personally grow and harvest this Artichoke on my farm. I never use herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or GMO's. All my herbs are grown using Permaculture ethics and techniques. I harvest in spring while energy is in leaf and before it sends up flower buds. I macerate the roots in 40% alcohol and 25% distilled water for 6 weeks. I strain then bottle and store in a cool dark cupboard.
Artichoke leaf has traditionally been used as a fantastic digestive bitter.
