I wild harvest Balsamroot each spring in eastern Washington. I hand dig from large stands, making sure to only take what i can carry, and then fill in all the holes. Later in the fall I return to that spot and scatter seeds to help the stand to grow. I wash roots and dry same day as harvest, then chop for ease of medicine making.
